
Learn the secrets of high level cooking with a very talented and skilled cook in an old, Moor-style villa. Unique dishes will delight your palate and the picturesque landscapes of the lake will amaze your eyes.
1st Day: reach Lake Orta and settle in the Villa Crespi Hotel (4-star), Orta S. Giulio. The hotel's building style is Moorish style and conveys an unusual Arabian Nights atmosphere to this a unique location, an old villa.
2nd Day: after breakfast you will meet the chef Antonino Canavacciuolo and his team in the hotel’s kitchens for the first part of the course. Here you will learn some of the secrets that earned this restaurant a number of prizes and acknowledgements (2 Michelin stars – 3 “Gambero Rosso” forks (92/100) – 18/20 20 Guida Espresso (3 hats) – 2 stars in the Vino di Veronelli guide book: Veronelli - La Guida Oro 2009). After the lesson there will be a break during which your tasting abilities will be tested with some special dishes.
In the afternoon you will be taken to Novara and the surrounding areas for a visit to a wine-cellar and a wine-tasting session, before returning to the hotel. In the evening you will be taken to Lake Mergozzo. You will be dining at Piccolo Lago restaurant (2 Michelin stars)
3rd Day: second part of the cooking course; new recipes for tasty breaks in special occasions. The course will end with a food-tasting session (lunch), followed by a well-earned rest. Late in the afternoon you will be taken to Lake Maggiore. a short cruise on a private motorboat in the Borromean Gulf is scheduled for the first evening. Enjoy the view of the sun setting over the lake as you sip a glass of spumante wine!
4th Day: After breakfast and before departure there will be a lesson (9.30 to 11.30 am) in the hotel’s bakery.
