Lake Maggiore is a wonderful destination for cycling, offering panoramic roads, peaceful countryside, woodland trails and spectacular views across the lake and surrounding mountains.

This active weekend in Stresa combines independent cycling, an exciting e-bike excursion on Mount Mottarone and a visit to the beautiful Borromean Islands.

It is an ideal package for anyone who enjoys discovering a destination at a slower pace while still experiencing a touch of adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to Stresa

Arrive in Stresa and check in to your hotel.

After settling in, collect your mountain bike and begin exploring the surrounding area at your own pace, following scenic routes and enjoying the landscapes of Lake Maggiore.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at a restaurant in Stresa’s historic centre, with a choice of dishes from the à la carte menu.

Overnight in Stresa.

Day 2 – E-bike Adventure on Mount Mottarone and the Borromean Islands

After breakfast, set off on a memorable ride aboard a full-suspension e-bike to discover Mount Mottarone, also known as the Mountain of Seven Lakes.

From its slopes, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Alps and the surrounding lakes before descending through woodland trails and panoramic roads towards Stresa.

Lunch at leisure.

In the afternoon, board a shared private motorboat for an excursion to the Borromean Islands. Visit elegant Isola Bella, home to the magnificent Borromeo Palace and its famous terraced gardens, before continuing to picturesque Isola dei Pescatori, where you can wander through narrow lanes, small shops and charming lakeside corners.

Return to Stresa, dinner at leisure and overnight.

Day 3 – One Final Ride

After breakfast and check-out, your mountain bike will still be available for one final scenic ride.

Choose a relaxing route around Stresa and enjoy the last views of Lake Maggiore before departure.
